FINE

I GIVE UP.

I'm going to the doctor. It has been many, many moons since I've sought medical assistance for anything other than the Brain Carnival, so I hardly know what to do with myself. All I know is that I knew I was in big trouble last night when my right ear clogged up. Then my left ear clogged up, and I took decongestants and lay with my ear directly on my heated neck-pillow thing (which, by the way, does not look that pretty and does not smell in the least like lavender anymore--sob!), which did absolutely nothing. Then I sought assistance from Katherine, who has a degree in all things ear-related, and she said I have blocked ecstatustration tubes or whatever, and told me to try pinching my nose shut, trying to exhale, and swallowing at the same time and see if that works. It might have last night, because my ears were popping all over the place and actually got hurty for a little bit there. Randy ordered me to go to the doctor today, so I'm going, but only because my ears are clogged up. Otherwise I would just live through it. I won't have insurance for another five weeks, so this is fifty bucks. Bye, fifty bucks! Sigh.

Other than that, I'm feeling pretty good. The scale isn't budging much but I can tell things are changing. I never knew how much the Brain Carnival (I'm not cursing anymore, remember? That is what I've renamed it, because it is just that much fun!) was affecting my body. Hindsight being what it is, I can be all, "well DUH" now, but when you are depressed, you are just trying to get out of bed every day, and nothing is good. I fracking LOVE Cymbalta. Seriously, y'all, it has changed my life. I have energy, I look forward to being active, I don't feel the need to eat four thousand calories a day. I can count on one hand the number of times I have eaten for comfort or out of boredom since I started Cymbalta, and of course the Adderall makes me forget to eat altogether. But what is most amazing is that I can stop eating before the food is all gone. I don't just mindlessly keep going. I can stop! I don't have to eat the whole bag, clean the plate! It's marvelous.

Now, if I could just get my ears unblocked, all would be right with the world.
